Just out of curiosity, given the fact that most games end with scores of like 12-15 points isn't it kind of unbalanced for a forfeit match for winner to get 50 and loser get 15.It almost encourages people to forfeit against good players cause then at least they know they'll get 15 points without even having to play.

Or am I reading the forfeit rule incorrect?

I would rather get 5 and the other teams get 15 then me get 15 if the other team gets 50. That pretty much messes up your clans chance of winning ifyou give away 50 free points and a win....

Well the point is to make it hurt the clan that forfeits. This rule only applys to E@W players and not FoC players since they cant forfeit a 1 game match. But in the standings a game that is lost 15-50 is going to hurt you a lot more then playing a game and losing 0-15. Its this way on purpose so that people who want to stay in the runnings will take a loss that is 0-15 instead of forfeiting and taking a 15-50 loss, either way they would be getting a loss, but if they actually play they have some control over how much they lose buy. If they just give up they lose a lot more points and it hurts them a lot more. The hope it that this will serve as a deterrent and keep people from forfeiting at all.

All fine and dandy..but since we're on the subject...

You implimented a maximum point rule of no more than 45 points...yet a forfeit is 50 points. How does that work?

I kind of agree with Visu.
A lot of people use the forfeit rule to boost their score.
They'd rather get those 15 points, no matter if the other guy gets 50.
I'd say give 45/0, then people won't forfeit.

actually the point cap of 45 only applys to Invasionweeks, there is no cap for Galaxyweek events.

People may think they can forfeit to boost their scores but in reality it just doesnt work like that. Ok sure, they get 15 points and that helps them a little in the area of average points per game, but the opposing player gets 50 points, which hurts their average enemey points per game. overall 50 points for the opposing team is going to hurt them way more they getting 15 points of their own can make up for. Sure 15 points may help them in that single category, but submitting a forfeit will not bring somebody up in the rankings. the rule mainly gives points for the cases in which a player must forfeit, not because they dont want to play somebody again, but because they have real life issues that take priority over gaming and they must leave.

However I have been considering changing the punishment to a forfeit and now with people calling for it to be changed i have started looking into a new forfeit point value. It will be ready by the next Galaxyweek.
