SWRepublicCommando.exe CTF_detention.ctm?game=mpgame.asgame?MapListType=MPGame.MapListAssault?maps+=CTF_detention?TimeLimit=0?GoalScore=0?NumRounds=5?RespawnDelay=5?RoundTime=240?MaxPlayers=8?GameSpeed=1.0?FF=1.0?WeaponStay=false?BalanceTeams=false? -server

Points to edit:
GoalScore=0?
NumRounds=5?
RespawnDelay=5?
RoundTime=240?
MaxPlayers=8?

Game Flaw - Score may go over limit, but win limit is set at 9 - If round is purely defensive and only Defensive points are awarded, the team that defends first will be the victor. If this is the case, 2 Matches would have to be played.

ER Scoring Status: Normal CTF Stats + Flags Defended:

To read -
Rating
Games
Victory Ratio
Avg. Captures per Game
Avg. Defends per Game
Avg. Enemy Captures per Game
Avg. Enemy Defends per Game
Unique Opponents
Avg. Rating Played

Two new Categories (and wording of categories) would encompass Enemy Captures, Enemy Defends, Team Captures, Team Defends.

Maps (To be limited):
Garden
Kachiro
Garrison
Lockdown (recommended for smaller matches)
Ghost Ship

Mod Maps:
SnowSiege

Reasoning: They are equalatiral maps, no team has an advantage and they can encompass the match sizes.

Respawn Delay:
Normal Delta Week rules.

Game length (Clear Cut Games):
2 v 2 - 18 - 27 minutes
3 v 4 - 21 - 31.5 Minutes
4 v 4 - 24 - 36 Minutes
5 v 5 - 27 - 40.5 Minutes
6 v 6 - 30 - 45 Minutes
7 v 7 - 33 - 49.5 Minutes
8 v 8 - 36 - 54 Minutes

4 v 4 - 4 minutes - 240
5 v 5 - 4.5 minutes - 270

Anyway, this layout here would encompass alot of changes to the layout of DW, however, assault is harder to score and you would need to add categories for Captures/Defends and Enemy Captures/Enemy Defends into the stat rating. Points would vary because those are skill categories.

Also, you might want to restrict map use so no one side has an advantage over the other. This would allow for fair play and a decent set of matches.

Thank you learner for the command line btw.

Please note, that when I say game length, that is not to be added to the server doc, that is just for personal reference to show that between all types of matches, none go over 1 hour. that is between 6 - 9 rounds tops.

Thanks Wayne for getting this down on paper.. I think everyone will have plenty of time to get review and give their feedback. It will certainly make it alot easier to organize.. I will talk to Maelstrom about setting up a new game area.-bp

For NKS servers ... two things need to be done.

2 v 2
SWRepublicCommando.exe CTF_underpass.ctm?game=mpgame.asgame?MapListType=MPGame.MapListAssault?TimeLimit=0?GoalScore=9?RespawnDelay=4?RoundTime=180?MaxPlayers=4?GameSpeed=1.0?FF=1.0?WeaponStay=false?BalanceTeams=false? –server

3 v 3
SWRepublicCommando.exe CTF_underpass.ctm?game=mpgame.asgame?MapListType=MPGame.MapListAssault?TimeLimit=0?GoalScore=9?RespawnDelay=6?RoundTime=210?MaxPlayers=6?GameSpeed=1.0?FF=1.0?WeaponStay=false?BalanceTeams=false? -server

4 v 4
SWRepublicCommando.exe CTF_underpass.ctm?game=mpgame.asgame?MapListType=MPGame.MapListAssault?TimeLimit=0?GoalScore=9?RespawnDelay=8?RoundTime=240?MaxPlayers=8?GameSpeed=1.0?FF=1.0?WeaponStay=false?BalanceTeams=false? –server

5 v 5
SWRepublicCommando.exe CTF_underpass.ctm?game=mpgame.asgame?MapListType=MPGame.MapListAssault?TimeLimit=0?GoalScore=9?RespawnDelay=10?RoundTime=270?MaxPlayers=10?GameSpeed=1.0?FF=1.0?WeaponStay=false?BalanceTeams=false? -server

6 v 6
SWRepublicCommando.exe CTF_underpass.ctm?game=mpgame.asgame?MapListType=MPGame.MapListAssault?TimeLimit=0?GoalScore=9?RespawnDelay=10?RoundTime=300?MaxPlayers=12?GameSpeed=1.0?FF=1.0?WeaponStay=false?BalanceTeams=false? -server

7 v 7
SWRepublicCommando.exe CTF_underpass.ctm?game=mpgame.asgame?MapListType=MPGame.MapListAssault?TimeLimit=0?GoalScore=9?RespawnDelay=10?RoundTime=330?MaxPlayers=14?GameSpeed=1.0?FF=1.0?WeaponStay=false?BalanceTeams=false? -server

8 v 8
SWRepublicCommando.exe CTF_underpass.ctm?game=mpgame.asgame?MapListType=MPGame.MapListAssault?TimeLimit=0?GoalScore=9?RespawnDelay=10?RoundTime=360?MaxPlayers=16?GameSpeed=1.0?FF=1.0?WeaponStay=false?BalanceTeams=false? -server

These are all the command lines with differentials edited to specifics for match size. Also, you will notice the Map list type in there ...

you need to go to your FTP, enter in your username and pass. go into the root directory then GameData\System\ and find the System.ini file. Open that, it should open to wordpad - scroll down near the bottom and find the line:

[MPGame.MapListAssault]

and edit it with this line of text:

[MPGame.MapListAssault]
MapNum=5
Maps+=CTF_Underpass
Maps+=CTF_HangingGarden
Maps+=CTF_POW
Maps+=CTF_detention
Maps+=CTF_trando

the command line will then play the map list specified there.

i have just one question here......when we do these matchs will we be alternating trando and rep....lets say after the first 5 rounds are done....then would we switch sides for the next match on the same map?? because otherwise one team could hold a extream advantage over the other during the matchs.......again its just a question because well its kind of interesting to see this going on

I for one, love Assault. I think this is a great idea, and i have thought about trying to get one going for a while. This would be a lot of fun, and i think we should do this.

Lance,

to answer your question, simply, before I try to set details about how the best way to get this done is, I am looking for anyone and everyone to help me set test the method I have layed out. The layout above is a suggestion based soley on what might possibly work. Hopefully by tommorow I can have a few of the types of sizes tested out, however, I am guessing that for the larger matches, you would have to devote 1-2 hours for larger rounds unless scoring is done before the time of the round runs out.

I have a new notebook, and a good workign pen, so I will be taking notes based on the tests run for the layout. I will then put all my notes together to make coherent thoughts and post here about where to possibly improve or change certain scoring areas or how to lay out the competition guidlines.

If you would like to help me run tests, PLEASE!!!! contact me.

Wayne,

A question. What is reported after a match is completed? In the current DW, Flags captured and Flags Lost are only reported from the match. This will help me create the system.

It could be

Rounds played : ??

MATCH TEAM ONE:

Flags Defended: ??

Flags Sucessfully ran to enemy base: ??

MATCH TEAM TWO:

Flags Defended: ??

Flags Sucessfully ran to enemy base: ??

My suggestion would be to take screenies at the end of every round and at final buzzer,make it so you have a 30 second timer till the next round starts,time to save screenies and re-do stuff like positions and maybe get a quick strech in before the next round.

Considering i didnt get any help on this when i asked for it, i never got to fully test this theory. and in that time i gave my cd keys out to DS to use on their server.

Hypothetically Speaking, this could work just like bacta week mixed with delta week:

Assault generally works by score limit or time limit - the original draft associated both.

Points scored for capture and defend are added to the team score, so that would be the result posting i think. but as far as how it goes, if my memory servers me correct: 1 point for defend, 3 points for score. It might be 2 for each successful score, havent played in some time.

so it would be: score team 1 and score team 2 entered. two fields should do it for it, how it would read is beyond me.

oh, and mael, you are better off emailing me these days

I have it "interwoven" into the current system now. I emailed you Wayne with confirmation of what is reported and the stats to calculate. This will take a day or two and the event will be ready (there will be bugs, as usual, with any new system) for competition. So, Wayne, if you could respond to my email, I can finish up this assault week system.

Thanks,

As excited as I am for AW, will this replace DW? I really like Assult, and I can't wait, but DW is one of the most popular events this site has seen, and I would definetly hate to see it go.

I think it may replace it this month, but not totally, this will be a test event to see if the scoring works out or not, and what changes need to be made.

So really, you will all be beta testers in a way :P
