Ok, we are gonna give this one more try. Maelstrom has given permission to hold another battlefront event. So, I'm setting up this event for the second week of May. I'm really hoping that all the clans that said they would be interested last time will actually show up this time. I'm really hoping that this time people will actually do what they say they are going to do. If this event only gets 9 players this time then you all better not be looking forward to a Bw19 because it won't happen.

Well, I dont think I will be participating personally. The lack of "dedicated servers" imo is a problem. When someone hosts a game from their machine it gives them an obvious upper hand.

Unless we get some clans in here that are willing to donate their dedicated server for the week and help set up matches, you can count me out.

Sorry, but from a competition outlook it would be like having 2 cars at a dragstrip. Both cars are built the same and both drivers have the exact reaction time, but one car has a 3 car length advantage from the start. Who do you think will win?

who did you play that was hosting off of their own machine? and i think the complete lack of participation in this event was the reason behind the lack of servers. If clans aren't playing you cant really expect them to be putting their servers forward for the event. -(DW)- put up ours but if eX, TPR, RA, and JMS arent playing then we can hardly expect them to be putting their servers up for event they aren't involved in.

Just to clarify and I hope this doesnt sound off or anything, but I wasn't "expecting" anyone to do anything. I was just simply stating my opinion. As for who I played, its easy to find out. The 1 v 1 I was in was fine, I saw a little lag but not really a big deal. The other game I played in all of us on our side saw horrible lag. Sometimes to the point of hitting a guy 8 to 9 times without them taking damage and not being able to move at times.

But like I said this is my opinion and I will not be partisipating unless there are some "dedicated servers" outside of the dedicated server program that can be launched from a machine. I didnt mean to start anything here, if you wish, you can delete my posts to help generate more interest if you feel that this is a negative perspective.

Thanks

Well I hope to see a bunch of clans there. There is this new SWB1 ESL Ladder up but as far as i can tell it is the type of ladder where you only play a match or 2 a week so it really in no way has to do with a clans ability to play in this next battle week. If a clan is using that as an excuse however we and assume that they are either A) not really a competition playing clan or B) just flat out aren't up to the competition they would have at ER, that could include just flat out not wanting to play the game in a competition setting. In any case I hope we see some new clans participating in the event so we can keep it going in the future.

Well Gents,

Despite some of the issues of late, lack of participation is always a bummer. So, i'm here to say I will participate and expecting some other {NJO} members to come on board. We are also in ESL, but really don't see a conflict as it is to everyone's own choice to participate.

I can offer our 2 servers for use. 1 is located in Colorado, USA and other is Florida, USA. By all means, try them out and determine if lag is an issue, as I completely understand the valid points made here on it.

Dont worry too much about the server Commander, others have servers available to use so you can always ask to borrow one. Just mainly focus on gettin some of your clan members playin. You guys only need 2 players to rank, but more then that will help you get higher ranks.

I love #1 and I really want to make this happen for J.O.V.
So I will most likely be there and hopefully at least a few others from my clan. Let's give it a shot. If it's a bust, then it is.

Well, as of Krayt88's post, club eX was not on the BW 18 list. But now it is. So that is very cool.

But I did notice 1 thing. You posted the xfires for your members on a thread I started. First, thanks very much for that. Second, 2 of the members you provided xfires for are NOT on the eX Battlefront Roster - Krony and Sun-Tsu.

Just letting you know, b/c if 5/11 came around and they were not on the roster and they played, they would ineligible per my understanding of the rules.

Just looking out for ya.

Events (at top), then pick Battleweek 18 from list, then left panel in Battle Area there is link for Battle Rules.

The ticket count or reinforcements was not called out. Based on "updated rule 1. regarding 175", it seems that the ticket for all maps should be 200???

I would say 200, because thats what most maps start at when your not using a dedicated server. The 175 rule is that if someone lags our or drops due to server issues before thier opponent hits 175 or less reinforcements, the match must be started over.
