There are starting to be more and more requests for an Assault Week. I have posted on many places suggesting it but I am not getting many responses so I will try here.
Can we add an Assault Week into the tournaments on ER for SWRC?

The roster's will be updated when I get more yes's and no's. Please post here whether or not you would like this to be an event.
Just to point something out because of all of the no's showing up. There are quite a few people that do not like BW but we still play it. If BW was removed I would be happy but I am still fine with playing it.

Flash,
I believe this is going to happen, I need info to be able to setup the area to allow assault type of events. I've posted a question to wayne about his draft and I am awaiting an answer.
I believe this has a strong support, even from the mods, and this will happen, I just need info so I can "integrate" it into the current system.

i say NO its far more the TDM or CTF and 2 tournements are fair enough, its to much to much from the good sid ei fu know wu ti mean. anyways thats wut i think.

To be honest; I wouldn't mind a Death Week or something (new name, or else it will be "DW"), so it's a Deathmatch instead of Team based play.
That way; you can expand into the two (besides on 2-8 person servers) least played games.
Assault Week sounds awesome!

how would we do a deathmatch it would have to be only individual scores only so no clan rating b/c you would play against ppl in your own clan and well if you didnt it would be BW all aver again. -_-

I have changed my mind, I don't support this. As far as I am concerned, think of this:
You have your team one person with the flag, and they go in and clear it, or what ever, but all the team has to do is throw the nade and your wiped out, It's a nice idea for something new, but come on guys, how about, We first try to bring RC back, then find new tournies

Hmm, maybe try and get more and more people to buy and play Rep Com online first? Assult week is interesting and all, but it seems to be way more complicated than a simple old fashioned CTF. I'm neutral on this one. And as for a Deathmatch week, that would go well with clan ladders, as in play only your own peeps. >_>

Guys assault is basicly like this.You grab the flag you go in to their base and try to get it to the piller within a 5 minute timelimit or whatever mael and BP set it to,IF someone does kill the flag holder IT STAYS there even if the opposing team trys to go over it.Now that right there is a big thing cause who wants a flag sitting in there base for the enemy to just grab and score the defending team has to stop them from getting in there base AT ALL.Defending is like the ultimate position in this type of game.Im supporting it.
There should be a BIG respawn time so that ppl cant hit ya 4 times on the way to there flag.Maybe a 15 second respawn ? and a 125% speed ?

The flag returns itself after a period of time of not being picked up by the assaulting team. So as you put it, Wes, it is a really big defensive thing....and the most strategic game in Republic Commando. That's the reason I'm supporting it (that, and it doesn't get the credit it deserves in the online world).

Well in some matchs it will return but in most of the matchs ive played it hasnt.

Setting up the server is easy as cake the only problem is the scoring algorithm wich is what Maelstrom is saying.

I just don't like the idea of killing the person with the flag, having it stay there, and then having their entire team running in and bombarding us, so theres like no point in even doing a match, sure there is like skill involved, but come on,
Example: i run in get as far as I can, my team waits out side, i die, they rush in, and score, even though the other team killed me, can some one find the flaw in that?

You'd think that be a big problem but it isnt because if your team just runs in there like manianics there going to die either from grenades or a good shotgun round.The good thing is with the flag time your team only gets ONE chance at running the flag thats all.In the internal matchs ive play in we've always had a spotter watch but not engage the flag runner and tell us where hes going and then when he pops out hes dead from a 10 nade barrage :P

There IS strategy involved in Assault if you look beyond all the constant nade-spamming, whether it be attacking or defending. It's not just nading people, it's kind of similar to football in a sense, just with some kicks in it, like you kill the carrier instead of tackling them.
You just have to pick the right strategies for every map, that's the whole point of practicing assault mode, to find out what strategy suits your team best so you can win.
Even if you nade spam everyone on the map as a defender and/or neglect your base, the flag carrier can and may just slip right past you and capture your base without you noticing because your too busy wasting nades on other people.
I love this game-type and I totally support it, can't wait for it to go down once everything gets set up.

i have np with assult week, i just think the matches should have 3+ peeps instead of 2v2s, it makes u do more teamwork if there was like more peeps cause a 2v2 is like run and hope u make it
