This post is mostly for clan leaders to think about for us to bring up when we hold a meeting, but a large amount of input I have received has indicated that having multiple events for this game in a month is burning members out.
With the implementation of the 5v5 ladder his fall/winter, we could look into limiting to one main ER event here for BFII, and then in the meantime clubs can play in the fall ladder for competitive play. You can post feedback here, or hold your input until we hold a meeting, but I'd like to see if this would be a pliable option for us.
Thanks for your time and consideration!

Hey Boba, well I guess I will go first here. Some of us don't play space or Saber or JKA. So, just speaking for my club, we would prefer it stays the same. But whatever is in the best interest for all here and if majority rules....well,then there is your/our answer. ER is unique with the tournament setup that it has. Maybe just a little cleaning house is needed to draw people back. But also there is nothing wrong with trying something new.

Looking forward to a potential CL meeting.

I think a clan leader meeting is cool, but maybe let everyone listen in just mute everyone but the clan leaders. The other thing is it would depend on the rules... for example would there be bots? Would there be spawn invincibility?

I would like to hold private meetings with club leaders so your questions and concerns can be brought up then without public knowledge. Then I would like to hold a public meeting with the club leaders and work toward the solutions.

Wont decreasing events only lead to people looking elsewhere to play .I mean everyone has the right to sign up and play in events or not to play. But if the events are cut back or not there wont it really encourage people to just play elsewhere?

Vis is right, if you are getting burned out on the event schedule then there is an easy fix: sit one out. Going to 1 event a month isnt really anything new, they were going once a month for like a year. Then there were complaints that Cw wasnt getting played enough and it went to 2 a week schedule. Changing back will probably only lead to the same situation. But If your clan is getting burned out then simply skip an event. Play conquest week but not the flag week of the same month, next month skip the conquest week and only play the flag/space week. Simple as that.

Awesome input guys (and gal). Yeah I liked the schedule myself and just sat out of an event or played minimally if I didn't have time.

Why not 2 events plus ladder? If you dont want to do 2 events each month then dont. Sit one out. If you do in fact want to do 2 events a month then awesome, you get to.

Ive been of the opinion over the last few months that its probably better to have 1 event PER GAME, per month. BF2 especially, when we have 3 events in a month, like when we have 5 friday's in a month, it gets a little bad, and for the last event, you only have 3 or 4 guys who will play because they arent as interested. I would say rotate CW and FW every second month. It may smooth things out. And it gives ppl time to play the other games we have.

But like I said earlier, we have been on that rotation before and people that only play SWB2 didnt like it cuz they had to wait an entire month to play, and that makes them go elsewhere for their events. And if SWB2 is or at least was, one of the most popular events at ER and so 2 events a month is warranted. The event in the 5th week of the month only gets a couple players in it not because people are burnt out, its because that 5th week event was a heroes event and well, most people consider heroes to be a joke mode and so they arent going to be into playing it as much as they will play conquest. If people play other games that have events at the same time as a battlefront 2 event then they can sit the battlefront 2 event out easy enough. If you are in an event and you just feel like playing another game then go ahead an play it (just make sure you turn off xfire first or you might get accused of blackballing as a couple DW found out the hard way).

Waiting an entire month to play is fine. SOME clans, like eX, do like to have practice sessions with each other so that we actually have the chance to get better and grow as a team. If you look at the events for BF2 for the last month or so youll see very little activity from us. There are 2 reasons for this. First reason is that its just too many events, and many of our top players are too burnt out to play. Second is that there have been a few....incidents with other clans, where even though they smoke us by an astounding amount, they are very poor winners about it. If you win, thats fine, but dont taunt ppl over xfire or MSN or whatever about it. Its people like that who give ER events a bad rep. I know of a few clans personally that have dropped ER over time becasue of this fact alone. Can we fix it? NO, but being sportsmanlike goes a long way towards making the next event or even the next match a successful and fun-filled one.

Then this is a perfect example of what i am saying. If you are burning out on 2 events a month then all you have to do is not play in one. That is it. Any clan who doesnt burn out on 2 events a month can keep playing. Any clan that does burn out can stop playing both. It is quite possibly the most simple fix anybody will ever come up with, but because your clan personally cant handle 2 events a month is no reason to take away an event from a clan that likes 2 events a month, especially when the reason you are burning out in the first place is because you keep signing up for 2 events a month knowing full well it will burn out your members.

Yeah, but you know what Krayt? I sign up our club for ALL BF events. Its up to the members if they choose to play in the event itself. Then we start to get other clans accusing us of black balling because we wont play them, and they think its because of the event. Well you know what ppl? Many of us have real lives and dont want to play video games all the time. Just becasue Im on XFIRE doesnt mean I want to play you. Just because im PLAYING BF2, doesnt mean I want a match, or that I am avoiding you. Ever heard of a clan practice? If not, you should try it sometime, its great fun!

Thats my rant.

I couldnt care less if people want to accuse eX of blackballing. And you ppl know exactly who you are. If we are going to CONTINUE to get accused of it then we will most likely pull out of ER.

I just dont understand the sense in dropping events just because SOME clans get burnt out. There may be some clkans who enjoy 2 events a month, and if you take 1 out just because some clans dont like it ur taking away the fun for other ppl. And if u dont like 2 events, then of course dont sign up for 1 and it doesnt effect u. yes, I'm new but the fact of taking an eventy away for that reason seems like a pretty bad reason to me.

The problem that people are failing to see is there is a competition for awards/ratings/points and so on between clubs and players. So if one club signs up, the other feels obligated to do so as well. Merely not signing up gives the other club an advantage to get ahead of the other.

Anyone up for CL meeting? I think that would be good. CrazyTurtle mentioned something about allowing others listening in. I'm kinda 50/50 on that. Don't know what harm that would do. Ummmm ex foo... one event a month? Hmmm well all i can say is J.O.V_ might be here 2 or 3 times a year with all the games/events that we don't play here.

Sorry that I'm late on this, but i think that the idea of a ladder + 1 event is a great idea, and the clan leader meeting is also great.

Here is my input, if this were to happen, the leaders would pick one or 2 trusted members to come with them, and speak on behalf of the clan. This is only my opinion, it would only lessen the load of saying the right thing, heres an example of what i mean by this.

Suppose that the meeting was going on, and all clan members were there to witness it, now mind that all of the members are muted except for leaders, and say.... dX Games Of The Dead is there. Now just imagine that some at ER had a grudge with him, and say something directly at him, and he goes into an anti ER mode, this would bring upon another DE/TR situation which none of us want to happen again.

Again, this is only my opinion.

I know this isnt my area but here is my 2 cents.
when it was SWBF1 there was 1 tornie a month wich is plenty of time for practice, internal scrims and pubing. when SWBF2 came out there were just too many modes of play between conquest,CTF,space and jedi arena wich if you were in a SW clan you barley had time for practice with your clan cause you were allways playing a tornie, scaleing down between the modes sounds like your best bet and since SWBF1 is still here it can only help by lessing the stress of a tornie 2 games 1 mode gives you something to work on as a unit and in the end your clan wont be burned out. as for saber week and the others well i never did like those games anyway but it is a staple here. so like you said if your getting burned out sit out its that simple.

I don't know what Strider is talking about or who he is, but I think your opinion reflects a general consensus of people here DravinClaw. It's difficult for club captains to merely sit their club out of an event, for fear of falling behind in "points". Regardless of what is claimed in regards to a solution that is being implemented, your opinion is important and we will do our best to incorporate everyone's when we make our decision. We won't say "That's great but we already got it so shove it" lol.
I haven't heard from any of the Club captains yet in regards to a meeting date, so I will attempt to set one up at a convenient time for everyone. Please reply or PM me should you have suggested times for it. Thanks guys

In a sense didnt you already basically say shove it to a lot of clans?I mean Flag/Space was taken out of the regular rotation simply because DR and eX complained?I wouldnt call that asking people what they think.I have talked to several clans who were never even contacted or asked thier opinion and the events were removed regardless. So yes I would have to question wether you care what people think or not.But then again you have to actually contact people and ask thier opinion before just making changes, now you already went and made the schedule changes a while ago and asking after the fact what people think? From what I read just in this post I saw more arguments for keeping the old rotation then for changing it.

I think we do not need to stir this pot again. There have been requests since mid-year when we went to the set schedule of requests to stop the dual events a month due to club burnout. I've brought this up to you many times. In addition, since the club-wide arguments and internal events were created, there was no official activity, so it is pointless to maintain such a schedule if no one is playing.

Im just trying to understand something.DR was the biggest ones complaining about the schedule, although it was mainly TR going back as far as last May but since thier one clan now I will refer to them as DR.What myself and others dont understand is that since Flag Week was removed from the normal rotation, then why did they put up such a fuss over the private internal event we wanted to have?I mean if they were so burned out and wanted the official event removed, why did they insist on causing problems for an unofficial event. They labeled it blackballing and what not.So myself and others are trying to see how it can be justified to on one hand have people complaining about the schedule rotation and got it removed but then cried when they werent invited to an unofficial event which was scheduled the same week as original flag week would have been.
I'm not trying to stir a pot,Im just trying to make sense of something cause its not just me whos also wondering why some decisions have been made.Again there was suppose to be clan meetings and contact made with club leaders to ask for feedback and what not but most clans I have talked to havent been contacted or asked anything. So the schedule really was changed without anyone being asked, which is fine cause thats your choice but then why was such a big deal made of a private flag event by a club who is the ones who caught official flag events removed in the first place.

EDIT: Also try and keep things on topic.

Well, it is apparent there is no solution to the limitations of the current battle system to make everyone happy. The change of course in this area is to introduce the tournament system which is running this month. This way there is no blackballing (without punishment), it is an ease on the schedule for the clubs, and no one else is doing it.

I'm happy to see clubs such as SL, DR, eX, dX, DW, and SE play in the tournament. I hope they are enjoying the event so we can host another next month.

I'm not going to address why what was or wasn't done, it's unhealthy. My primary goal in taking over this area is to fix the issues and bring gaming back to SWBF2, not answer critiques on my decisions.

Fix the issues and bring gaming back to SWBF2 would include allowing people to make questions and also try and make them understand changes made that have affected why they are not playing anymore.I'm not sure why you consider it critigues on decisions when most people are just trying to figure out what has happened and what is going to happen. It was said that club leaders would be reached out to and involved but most I have talked to have not been contacted which is leaving them wondering about changes that have made made without asking for any feedback from them.

Yea well vis is pretty much correct im not sure what DR's deal is sometimes especially in that situation although the added competition was pretty cool i guess, the fact that they made that fuss about to many events and then entered the private on was very weird and confusing.
Also about the new schedule change I was never alerted of the new change, and unless it was straums decision with no outside influences , I wanted to know about the topic to debate my position and keeping that schedule.
I'm sure we can resolve all conflicts if DR would stop acting like Yebadoochis.

DR as a whole was started with a clean slate to ER, and we fully support this site as well as its competitions. We are not TR, nor DE- rather a new club who wishes to compete.
Everyone should really just stop living in the past and move on. My members have all refained as much as possible posting in controversial topics so that we can all get past our differences. We have been careful to not complain as we have addressed internal issues we have had, so please don't continue to judge us on complaints some of my members may have made many months ago. You are correct, DR was upset to not be included in the invitational but merely because we are fresh and want some people to shoot. That is why we all come here right, to shoot things?
So again, I implore you to move on and play. Or don't play, that's your call.

On a side note, haven't gotten any PMs or posts with availability guys. Give me a heads up if you're available.

I for one do agree with what vis is saying about fixing the issues, but with the flaming against clubs, who have begun again with a clean slate, has to stop. DR has done nothing to ingnite trouble lately, and we plan on keeping it that way, but with certain members of the ER community trying their hardest to start a problem, it just wont happen. Please try to keep all of that out of the forums, and clan arguments stay between the clans and not the rest of us.

and again, vis is coreect..the captains have not had any meetings nor were changes discussed as addressed when we were all mods here..that was the whole point...the captains can care less of what slate DR has been given to be honest..and the past is the past, however dont expect the ER clans who have been here to jump for joy cause you say DR is all new and competitve...cause we all know the deal...

SWBF2 is a dying game, it needs to be spiced up a bit..
and the invitational was just that..and invitational...clubs with "controversial" players and/or leaders were not invited...nor will be in the near future..
So what can we do to make the event more interesting??

[Edit] One thing I would like to clarify that was identified to me. I made a list of clubs recently playing in events in my contact list. Per information from my predecessor(s), there were clubs identified as quitting ER and not coming back and therefore left off my list to contact. If there were clubs that felt they should have been contacted, I apologize for this. Please PM me if you would like to discuss things with me.

I find it kind of ironic that one of the very things I was accused of doing such as editing posts and such,is still going on.So I guess when I took actions it was censorship but now its okay.
Strider Im not sure why you would edit my post saying to keep it on topic.Have you even been around long enough to know what the real topics are people are debating here?

Well I find it kinda ironic that 2 adults continue to try and stir up crap. Why can't you let things go. ER is a gaming site for competition. Something we haven't had here in awhile because of the things that were stirred up here by a select few. There's a lot I'd like to say that's the truth but I won't because this won't help. All I know is it's getting very old. Stop trying to kill ER with your fingerpointing to someone else and look at yourselves. (-DR-)

I edited your post because it was flaming a clan, which is against the rules fyi, stop doing it and try and get past all that mess.Do try to keep things on the topic of MONTHLY EVENTS instead of " Hey, lets flame DR!" And actually I have been here long enough to know, just wasn't active on the forums, irrelevant as that all is, keep things on topic.
