About glitching the flag

Currently it is illegal to put the flag on places, where the opponent team can't take it.

In my eyes this can be a tactic or strategic thing to deal with it.

I talked to BPrendy and we decided to start a poll about this issue.

The fact that it is referred to as "glitching" is reason enough for me to say it should stay illegal. It seems to me that making something like that legal is grounds enough to make the wall in the lockdown tunnel legal...and could go on and on. Tournaments have been find thus far without it, and I think that to make something like that legal would cause a lot of unnecessary controversy.

Just b/c you can do something doesn't make it right.. These are obvious design flaws in the game and have no place in a proper tourney.

Let me clearify what you're saying Vash, because "gliching" covers more then things to do with the flag. This got started with people braking the blast door in Lockdown. Gliching should cover anything to do with putting the flag in place we the defendeing team cannot get it to braking blast doors or elevators.

I personaly think is low and should be illigal. It's obviouse the the game designers did not intened people to use the game in that manner, and there for we should not support it.

I only throw the flag on crates,catwalks,etc where the defending team CAN get it,I personally dont think THAT should be against the rules.Of course there are always new spots to find i think that anywhere that you find thats new should be reported to a mod and they can find out if its a glitch or not.

I have an idea of what you mean and fully agree. The worst thing I will do is throw it on crates to where the opposing team has to work harder to get it, but it's still in reach. Now if that's considered glitching then let me know and I'll quit. But that's the worst I've ever done w/the flag.

I'm pretty sure that's just a flag toss, because you guys are most likely referring to Engine. All the opposing team has to do is go up on their catwalk and jump down to get it, so it is CLEARLY returnable, and therefore not a glitch. Up to catwalks is simply a throw to your teammates. I say that as long as you can walk there, it's not a glitch. But, throwing it under the stairs in lockdown, and other such things is just plain unsportsmanlike in my view, not being able to defend your flag long enough to keep it from getting into the enemy base is NOT a reason to use an exploit in a game. Notice the word exploit, the same thing that rich companies do to little children in sweatshops of third world countries, now how's that make you feel. Exploiting a flaw in any game, should never be legal.

I say that any form of glitching is illegal, and should be punishable by like... a forfeit. I hate when people waste my time like that.

To be fair, all you have to do is go around :P Either way, all "glitching" the door is is a minor inconvenience. Both teams have access to that flag, but it just makes it more difficult to return the flag/escape from a pursuit.

This is my two cents on the matter (also check the topic for my excuse of an "argument".

My vote: Annoying as heck itself, but legal!

Xazax (yes i know your not rob) you've just confused two different topics

1.THIS topic is about glitching the flag where the opposing team CANNOT under any circumstances get the flag back until it returns itself

2.MY topic named "Locky Door glitching" (something along the lines of that) Is about glitching the blast door in Lockdown where YOU CANNOT open the door into the middle area till the server restarts,changes map,crashes. (This has already been confirmed as illegal)

Okay Blck, what do you mean by throwing under the stairs? I don't remember any stairs in lockdown, except unless you're talking about the ramps in the base, but that would be easy to get to. Or are you talking about the ramps in the middle (last I checked all you need to do is crouch and it is yours)

Refer back to my post on the other thread. I vote for it to stay illegal, because lets face it, if it is the blast doors today, then it will be the hollow walls tomorrow, and then it will be the elevators in Ghostship, etc.

You can crawl under the stairs and throw it so the oppsing team cant get it when they try to crawl to get it.
