Well, i have noticed something over the tornements i take place in that is just not right. ER banning people from torny due to Xfire convos...

Now If the Conversation is ABOUT the tornement, or setting up the match or harrasing about a certaint match...i understand that then u guys shuld step in. But if 2 people just get into a dispute of words and vulgar langauge is used, which is not about the tornement...Er has NO RIGHT to ban people for this.

I think ER is great, and helps out the community SO MUCH, but i think that u simply have a bit too much power. I just dont see it being right that an er mod bans people for how they use their computer and their program...If it is about the otrny...by all means go ahead...but not when 2 people get into an argument about a random disagreement..that just isnt right.Or even when the vulgar languiage isnt used towards a player...for example if some1 says "SH*t" ingame that shuld not get them into trouble they are not hurting any1 or any1's feelings.

Well, nary do I post on these forums infact this may be my first post.

That being said, would you want people participating in a fun tournament with you if they can get aggrivated to the point of using excessive language on xfire for trivial disputes with people who they otherwise have no contact with during the day? This conduct can spill over into the actual matches and this way is just a preventative measure to make sure that people arent disrespectful to eachother in a fun competition.

Take my words for what they are worth. I just think this way would make the tournaments more fun for everyone.

i agree but if a guy comes up to u and says

"wow, that was a close f'in match!"
"Like that last score was lucky as Sh*t"

thats not hurting any1, and if they choose to talk like that they have every right to,a s long as it doesnt offend the other guy, and if it does, he shulkd ask them to stop...its not er mods job.

Wrath who have we done this to? Flash was banned for curing during a match as was xXx... but who have we banned for casual xfire talk during a tourney in the last (recently??) Looking at the context of your last point, I see no reason why we would ever ban someone for those sort of remark? But I have to ask you when has this happened? The fact of the matter is that a certain amount of cooperation is require by all clans to have this tourney run smoothly.. If you've noticed many of the old timers don't play in them anymore due to the immaturities that are displayed on a daily basis.. I believe I myself have about 15 matches in the last 2 tourneys.. Frankly we are moderators not referees, if people can't act appropriately I'll glad show them the door.. If anything we have been extremely patient.. On a personal, note how many chances have I give you to clean up your language? Your post mentions xfire talks, didn't you yourself send me a transcript of someone else cursing via xfire which was very similar to some ones I've seen where you were the one being reported?

I have gotten many warnings (in the past) for stuff such as "Your roster is poop"

Tho mabe a witten set rules on "Vulgarity" would be better, so that we know what line we can and cannot cross. Because anytime a mod bans some1 from a diff clan,it makes that mod loook like they r doing it just to win. I think that more rules on this 1 big rule, more descriptive rules....would benefit everybody.

and about the Xfire script i sent you, It basically told me to go fark myself, and that my words were BS. You sent me a warning for cursing in my vocablary(saying F once and Sh*t once) Not at any1, yet just in my speech.

He cursed at me in an insulting manor. The diferenct between the 2 is why we need set rules.

For you first post Wrath, how have the mods been unfair in any way? If we were trying to win as you say, why is it that all the mods playing in this events, their clans are not ranked as well as they have been in the past?

Second, Don't start talking like you know who mods are sending PMs to and giving people warnings, you know that for the most part they are not publicly dealt out, and you choose to make yours that way.

As far as a rule for this... I really think you can control your own behavior. We are not baby sitters here to hold people's hand. If you really need a guide line to fallow here it is:

1. No swearing of any kind. (words include the F word of any verity, a$$, sh*t, B*tch, and any other word you deem as a swear word.)

2. No vulgarity. (this includes but is not limited too; poop, sh*t, butt hole, Pen*s, d*ck, and many more I really don't want to list.)

Look good to you?

I know im not one to take sides...
But im taking Wrath's side. Not that it has happened to me but i have heard people complain about being warned up stuff that they didn't do wrong, or didn't mean to do. It's an unforgiving system.

But i still think ER is one of the best tournament for gamers to show that they don't have be the pro's which you see on TV or online stations. They still participate in a tournament that doesn't involve money. We gamers still know the meaning of gaming, and the people who play for money... have lost the real reason why we play.

People who play money tournaments aren't bad or lost. They just get a bonus to enjoying a fun game. Besides, it would be pretty cool. ^^

Sportsmanship is one of the prevailing themes in the ER tournies. Certain unnecessary xfire statuses bring ill will into the tournies which are meant for fun. Is it that hard to just say gg, and leave after the map changes(for the sake of endgame screenshot)? It's not unreasonable for us to ask the tourny players to have a certain level of maturity in regards to the player interaction or the rules.

It doesn't matter whether you meant it or not. If you do wrong, you will be punished. The punishment will help you remember to watch your step next time. We want a good clean fight. Please don't bring personal BS into the tournaments.

I really do agree with BP's post about why some of the older players don't play as much. Using foul language doesn't do anything other than make you look bad, end of story. I'm no saint but I keep it under control for the most part. You got something bad to say about another player keep it to yourself.

So Ninja, what your saying is that if you accidently run over the EC detonators and accidently click Q(which i do alot) and throw them on accident you should be banned from ER? Or kicked from the current event. To me thats unfair.

You know the only time i was warned for swearing was when i killed myself in a DW tourney and said "sh*t" and that was because the other team decided to make an issue out of it.It seems to me that the bigger ppl make the issue the more bad things happen....In short unless its something like a hack or a swear fest leave it alone so it doesnt get made into something it doesnt have to be and therefore cause topics like this :P .

Stop making everything so black and white...

If that where to happen as you already know; no one would be banned, at most the match would be thrown out. However, most issues are taken care of right there in game. You talk it over with the other team and that's all there is to it.

AMEN Havick!

Getting kicked for something like that is a gross exaggeration.

Wes is right. You guys present the issues to us. If there's no problem, then we won't hear about it.

i didnt know there was such an issue with swearing, i said f*ck in a match earlier when i did a team kill, no one cared.... if people complain about a few swear words then that's just absolutely pathetic, if anyone has an issue with some swearing then they should tell people before the match that they dont like it...

Hmm...Im no saint either...But I dont swear in BW matches, mostly I laugh, as I am there for fun, and some teamkills or suicides are quite funny.

What I hate?

Big clans that tell you to stay put in ur base while they go around picking up snipers and shotguns before the match has started.(U notice I say no names...)

Looking out my base in lockdown and seeing an enemy already in a sniper box...

Ye, that I hate, poor sportsmanship, and also, the fact that some people make it as unfair as possible just to win.

Unfair as possible...
I played 2 matches in Lockdown yesterday, on a US server.
I hadnt agreed to play on that map, nor had my partner, the other side chose it.
Ping advantage is biggest in maps like Lockdown, which are all long range, shotgun is useless, and I think shotgun is easiest to use on high ping.

Also, if I play US players on a euro server, I let them have rep both games, because low ping+blaster is a heavy weapon in the hands of any kind of reasonable player.

I havent seen any of that on the US side, in fact I hate the way some US players use just blaster against euro players on their servers.

Ill tell you how I see it.

For american players, 0 ping blaster is noob?

in that case, for euros, 60 ping blaster is noob to, as they have 140/180 ping on US servers.

I know im wandering off the topic, I know also that a lot of players will disagree with me.

Think about this then...a lot of noobs use noob weapons because theyre easier to use...what is easier to use than a blaster with 40/60 ping against a 160 ping...?

I'd appreciate if you could stay on the subject and answer the question poised by mods and the GD here on who we actually banned because of Xfire conversations?

Unless you have concrete proof of this, I am afraid you are lending yourself to rumors and believing them or stirring rumors up yourself.

Once we have the name(s) of banned people we would like to look into it and determine why this happened.

Thanks.

I believe that the incidents involving them began in-game and were carried onto xfire. I might be wrong but that's just what I believe I heard happen.

Wrath, as you are WELL aware Flash was sat the last event due to what he said INGAME. Also the only time Miek was sat from an event (which was alteast 3-4 events {IE 3-4 months ago}) for his specific issue I do not recall what was said or whether or not it was ingame or xfire. However it doesn't matter, ER relies on clubs and their players to maintain a certain level of mutual respect for our events to work, we will not tolerate inappropriate behavior or people who continuely walk the fine line of what is considered inappropriate. Since many players use xfire as their main tool to setup matches we are forced to review this xfire encounters when clubs make complaints against other clubs. But I am QUITE sure that even if we didn't we would have people setting up matches in the BR while they getting cursed at by the same person via xfire, so that would not solve the problem. The issue isn't people getting sat from events for acting out over xfire, it is that people need to grow up and everyone would have alot more fun.
